Increasing enrolment in government schools

One of the biggest challenges faced in government schools across the country is declining enrolment. Competition from the private sector and the general declining rate of growth of population are major competitors. However, contrary to this trend, schools where CHINAR works in have shown a steady increase in enrolment since our TALIM project began in 2014. It clearly reflects  that a holistic approach which engages teachers, students, the community and the administration has a significant role to play in increasing enrolment rates at government schools.

Our school in Kulgam district has shown such commitment that two private schools in the vicinity had to close down due to lack of enrolment.
